v1.06 0217 is the latest version needed to play online.
Warning For some players Settler does not start after running the patch, see Settler does not start after patch 1.06.

You can download the patch for free at siedler-maps.de.

Run the downloaded file and the patch should be installed.

Warning If the execution of the patch does not work, which could be the case with the Steam version of Siedler for example, you can also open the patch with an unpacking program and manually update the files in your settler installation directory.
