Host a game


In order for other players to join your open game, you must be able to host, i. The router must forward the TCP Port 7073 to your computer.

The following explains how the port forwarding works on a Fritzbox. With other routers it should go similarly.

  1. Call the router interface in your browser. In the Fritzbox you give, for example fritz.box in the address line.
  2. Select in the overview on the left the tab Internet . step1.jpg
  3. Select the item Share in the overview on the left in the submenu. step2.jpg
  4. Choose the tab Port Shares in the middle. step3.jpg
  5. Click on the button New Port and fill in the fields accordingly. Make sure that the port is unlocked for the right computer. step4.jpg

Warning Your computer is identified by the router via an IP address. If this is not statically assigned, your computer will be assigned a new IP every time you log in to the router. Then you have to adjust the IP address in your port forwarding.

Firewall The firewall can also block access to the port. For this you can temporarily turn off the firewall to check whether settler may use the port and then if necessary, configure the firewall properly.

Note An open port always presents a certain security risk and should be disabled after use.
